How to Set Up Your PrivacyHawk Account

Getting started with PrivacyHawk is simple! Follow this step-by-step guide to create your account, link your email addresses, and begin taking control of your online privacy.

Step 1: Download the PrivacyHawk App

  • On Your Mobile Device:

    • Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search for "PrivacyHawk."

    • Download and install the app on your device.

Step 2: Create Your Account

  • Open the App or Web App:

    • Launch the PrivacyHawk app on your device or access the web app form your preferred mobile or desktop browser.

  • Sign Up:

    • For Apple and Web App users, you have the option to sign in using your Apple ID or an Apple Private Relay email.

    • For Android users, you’ll sign in using a Google email address.

  • Receive Your Welcome Email:

    • After signing up, you’ll receive a welcome email from PrivacyHawk. This email will include the email address you used to create your account.

    • Save this welcome email for future reference—it can help you access your account from a different device later.

Step 3: Run Your First Privacy Scan

  • Submit Your Initial Information:

    • Enter basic details like your name, age, and location when prompted.

    • PrivacyHawk uses this information to identify data brokers currently holding your personal information.

  • Review Your Privacy Scan Results:

    • The scan will reveal which data brokers have access to your information.

    • Evaluate these results to decide whether to remain a free user or upgrade to Premium or Platinum based on your needs and budget.

  • Consider Upgrading Your Plan:

    • If you click the Remove Me from All button, you’ll be prompted to the upgrade screen, which provides detailed information and pricing for our Premium and Platinum tiers.

Step 4: Set Up the Reduce My Digital Footprint Tool

  • Link Your Email Accounts:

    • You can link up to three email addresses from Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo domains for free.

  • Run Your First Digital Footprint Scan:

    • The tool scans your linked email accounts to identify companies that might be holding your information within the main inbox in the email addresses you linked preivously..

  • Opt-Out Requests:

    • Free users can send up to 10 opt-out requests through this tool.

    • Unlimited opt-out requests are available only to Premium and Platinum users.

Step 5: Configure Your Settings

  • Enable Notifications:

    • Turn on alerts to receive updates about privacy risks, actions needed, and new scan results.

  • Select Your Subscription Plan (Optional):

    • Explore free features or upgrade to the Premium or Platinum plans for enhanced protection.
