You’ve unlocked our most complete protection plan — designed to give you peace of mind by reducing your digital footprint, stopping unwanted emails, and monitoring for threats to your identity.

This guide will walk you through each of the four tools included in Platinum, explaining:

📂 Data Broker Removal

What it is:
Data brokers collect and sell your personal info (like your name, phone, address, or relatives). This can fuel spam, robocalls, junk mail — and even identity theft risks.

How it helps you:
PrivacyHawk automatically scans hundreds of data broker sites. When your info is found, we send removal requests on your behalf to get your data deleted.

Setup steps:

When you first join PrivacyHawk, you’ll run your initial data broker scan. This scan checks hundreds of broker sites to see where your information is exposed.

  • If you’re on Platinum, selecting 'Remove Me From All' and upgrading automatically triggers removal requests for the items found in that first scan.

  • From there, the tool keeps working in the background — it will re-scan every month and automatically send new removal requests if your information is found again.

There’s nothing extra you need to do once your first scan is complete and removals are triggered. The system will continue monitoring and cleaning up any items found for you.

What to expect:

  • Removals typically take 30–90 days depending on the broker. (You can read it more about it here.)

  • We run automatic monthly scans. If a broker relists your data, we’ll find it again and resubmit a removal.

  • You can track progress in your dashboard.

Pro Tip: The first scan may show a lot of results — don’t panic. It means we’re already working hard to shrink your digital footprint.

🌐 Digital Footprint

What it is:
Your “digital footprint” includes all the places your personal information exists online — accounts, emails, subscriptions, and more.

How it helps you:
By connecting your email(s), PrivacyHawk finds accounts tied to your identity. This lets you:

  • Spot old or unused accounts

  • Reduce your footprint by sending Delete My Data or Do Not Sell requests

Setup steps:

  1. Go to the Digital Footprint section in the app.

  2. Connect up to 3 email accounts you use most often.

  3. Let PrivacyHawk scan your inbox for linked accounts.

  4. Review the list of connected apps and accounts.

  5. Use the built-in actions to send removal or opt-out requests.

What to expect:

  • The scan takes a few minutes, depending on your inbox size.

  • Some requests are instant; others may take longer (companies process them differently).

  • You stay in control — nothing is deleted without your approval.

Pro Tip: Start with your oldest email account — that’s usually where the most forgotten accounts hide.

📬 Unsubscribe Tool

What it is:
A fast way to clear out marketing emails, spam, and mailing lists.

How it helps you:
Instead of hunting for “unsubscribe” links one by one, PrivacyHawk finds them for you and handles the unsubscribe process automatically.

Setup steps:

  1. In the app, go to Unsubscribe Tool.

  2. Select the connected email account you’d like to clean up.

  3. Browse the list of subscriptions and marketing senders we identify.

  4. Tap Unsubscribe next to the ones you don’t want anymore.

What to expect:

  • Most unsubscribes take effect in a few days.

  • Some senders may take up to 2 weeks to fully stop.

  • You’ll immediately notice fewer unwanted emails over time.

Pro Tip: Do a quick unsubscribe session once a week to keep your inbox clutter-free.

🕵️ Identity Protection

What it is:
Ongoing monitoring to alert you if your sensitive information is exposed in a data breach or on the dark web.

How it helps you:

  • Alerts you to leaks of your email, SSN, or other identifiers.

  • Helps you take quick action before criminals exploit that data.

  • Includes up to $1 million in identity theft insurance for recovery costs.

Setup steps:

  1. In the app, tap Identity Protection.

  2. Follow the guided setup to add the information you’d like monitored (such as email addresses, phone number, or SSN).

    Note: We don’t store your SSN — it’s only used for monitoring.

  3. Enable alerts and verify your contact info so we can notify you instantly.

What to expect:

  • You’ll receive an alert if your data appears in a new breach.

  • Alerts are notifications only — they don’t remove the breach (since the data was already leaked).

  • Each alert includes recommended next steps (like password resets or freezing credit).

Pro Tip: Turn on monitoring for all your active email addresses and your SSN (if comfortable) for the strongest protection.
